Sale smashes records, tops quarter of a million

BIG BEND - The 70th annual Big Bend Livestock Show and Sale smashed all records with a sale that topped a quarter million dollars Saturday night in Alpine - some $60,000 over any previous sale. All those dollars go to 4-H and FFA students from Brewster, Jeff Davis and Presidio counties. With the final figures still not in, volunteer members of the BBLSA had talled over $251,000 by Tuesday - and none of the money spent in the silent auction had been added in yet.
