Band and art are latest losses for schools here

FORT DAVIS - After a public meeting last week, school trustees in Fort Davis met again Monday and continued to chop away at programs and teaching positions, this time ending the Indian band program and the secondary art classes. The cuts - which follow the loss of three athletic programs last month - are an effort by the school board to fund what's left of the school district now that millions have been taken away in lost state funding as well as changes in the district's status as a "rich" school district.
