Celebration of cowboy heritage begins with Trappings of Texas

BIG BEND – Trappings of Texas, the 28th annual fundraiser for Sul Ross State University's prized Museum of the Big Bend, www.museumofthebigbend.com, a nonprofit exhibition space for dynamic programming and public outreach for the region's Western history and heritage. The three-day celebration starts tonight at the historic Gage Hotel in Marathon with an evening of cowboy poetry from Ross Knox, famous cowpuncher Boots O'Neal, and Ed Ashurts, Southwest author of the newly published book Real Cowboys- Grand Canyon to Mexico.
