O'Donnell puts an early end to playoffs

FORT DAVIS - The district champion Fort Davis Indians got a good dose of South Plains roundball Friday in the first round of the state basketball playoffs, losing to a tough O'Donnell team 83-36. And the farther north into the Panhandle teams go, the harder it gets - O'Donnell was downed by seven by Petersburg Tuesday night. The Indians put up a strong first quarter fight, and were actually on top early before the Eagles decided they better get with the program. Defense and the speed of the game are what separates the Far West Texas schools from the South Plains and Panhandle, where most years the state champion calls home.
