Former DMR resident Montgomery dies at 92

GLEN ROSE -- Eula Dell McDowell Richardson Montgomery, 92 and formerly of Jeff Davis County, died April 23, 2014, in Glen Rose. Graveside service was April 26 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in May. Mrs. Montgomery was born Jan. 31, 1922, in Cherokee to John Alvin McDowell and Daisy Yarbrough McDowell. She was a member of the Church of Christ and lived for a number of years in the Davis Mountains Resort. She enjoyed oil painting and was the weather watcher for many years for the newspapers in Fort Davis and Alpine as well as Alpine radio stations KVLF and KALP. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husbands Tommie Richardson and Ralph Montgomery, sons Tommie Louis Richardson, Jr., Tommie Lee Richardson and sister Dortha Chaney of Brownwood. Survivors include daughters Barbara Thompson and husband Richard of Breckenridge, Theresa Cotton and husband Billy of Kermit; son Randall Richardson and wife Cindy of Glen Rose; grandchildren Susan Montalvo and husband Oscar of Porter Ranch, Calif., Stephanie Reid and husband John of Petersburg, Va., Matt Thompson and wife Angela of Huntsville; 10 great grandchildren; nephew John Cheney and wife Mozelle of Abilene.
