Big Bend ropers flock to Las Vegas for the big bucks

Former Fort Davis Indian Tallian Thompson, right, was one of the big winners last year in Las Vegas
The Big Bend has pretty much moved to Nevada this week with a whole slew of folks attending the national finals of rodeo and another big crowd roping in the Priefort World Series of Roping. That's the big $9 million team roping that's going on through Sunday. It's the same one that Emilio Tarango of Van Horn won two years ago and Tallian Thompson won last year. Thompson, who attended school in Marfa and Fort Davis before moving to Greenwood, lives in the Midland area now.
