Bloys Cowboy Camp Meeting in the early 1950s

by Marjorie Hughes (from Claude Smith gaggle) The small "townships" started from the Brite/White Camp on the mountainside on down through the Means-Evans, and Merrill-Miller and Mitchell- Medley to the Burnet and to the JFE (where the law was Big Jim Espy) - which is the Jones, Finley, Espy encampment on the south side of the highway before  it was a highway. hat was the beginning of the Chapel in the Rocks (below the Bat Cave, which due to Godly rock designs, was there before the Chapel, or Bloys, for that matter). That's when Levis were made of green cowhide and not easily torn,  oots were scraped and stayed wet-to-damp for over a week.
