School budget drops four percent; state accountability report excellent

FORT DAVIS - School trustees approved Monday an austere budget, the first year of three more consecutive "tight" budgets to help the district cope with the continuing drop in state public school funding. The overall budget will be over four percent down from the current budget, which saw cuts in programs like the award-winning Fort Davis High School band, the art department, and sports like golf, baseball and tennis.
