ALPINE – Alpine's Gallery Night Board of Director's invites the Big Bend public to come to its 2nd annual mural fundraiser May 2. This year's mural will be on the east end of the Big Bend Wool and Mohair on Murphy Street, donated by Bob and Lucy Ward of Morrison True Value.

Second Annual Viva Big Bend Food Festival includes cowboy breakfast at the historic site

BIG BEND - The Second Annual Viva Big Bend Food Festival begins today all across the Big Bend with events in Alpine, Fort Davis, Marfa and Marathon. Many of the events are free and open to the public while others have a cost - for more information check with the Fort Davis Chamber of Commerce, one of the event sponsors. On April 11 there will be a Cowboy Breakfast at the Fort from 8:30 to 10:30 with camp cook Glenn Moreland of Fort Davis cooking at Fort Davis National Historic Site.

One-act play moves on to next round of state competition

RANKIN - The Fort Davis High School one-act play Anatomy of Gray won the second round of competition last Saturday in Rankin. Performed Saturday in Rankin against Rankin, Buena Vista and Sierra Blanca, the Fort Davis play now advances with Rankin to the third round, the area competition, in Midland at Midland Lee High School, 615 W.. Missouri in Midland on April 12 at 2 p.m.
