Poof . .. it came pouring down Tuesday afternoon and by Wednesday morning it was just as quickly gone - three inches and more in places across the area, including here on Sleeping Lion Mountain.

Free flu shots here Saturday

FORT DAVIS - Its not too late to have a flu shot. Flu shots will be available free of charge to anyone over 19 years old this on Saturday, Jan. 23, from 9 am until 11 am at tha Food Pantry here in Fort Davis.

You can call'em argumentative or just plain mouthy

You can call'em argumentative or just plain mouthy - but you can also call Fort Davis debaters the champion Cross X Debate team in thie end of the state, Second place in district went To Becky Caswell and Brucks Farrer, the team to the left, and first place went to Tessa Schreiber and Makayla Chambers. Schreiber also was named Top Speaker in the district. Regionals and state are on the horizon for the four.

Nolan named Fort Davis AD; audit report is very positive

FORT DAVIS -The football coach for the Fort Dvis Indians is taking on the additional duties of athletic director - more of the fallout from the decisions last week of three teachers to leave the Fort Davis school system. Fort Davis has named Seth Nolan as athletic director after receiving the resignation of Gary Lmar last week.

Pierce remains in jail awaiting murder trial

JEFF DAVIS COUNTY - At least two murder trials are on the dockets in Far West Texas before the case of Harlin Anson Pierce goes to court. Meanwhile, Pierce remains in jail in Marfa, Where he has been since last spring.

Body of Guatemala boy could be moved from cemetery here

JEFF DAVIS COUNTY -The body of a young boy from Guatemala may be exhumed from a Fort Davis cemetery, only weeks after he was buried here. A consulate office in Laredo has contacted JeffDavis County about the youth, who died of exposure right around Christmas time on a ranch near Fort Davis.
