FORT DAVIS - It's not like a real team - it doesn't have any real money. No real budget. It's a program with a volunteer coach whose son and daughter-in-law LaShawn and Rick McIvor also volunteer their time. Matter of fact, the Fort Davis High School tennis program was all but abandoned in 2013 when it became clear that state funding cuts since 2008 had been so severe that this school district, like so many, would have to do away with tennis, golf, band, baseball, art - just for starters. But that's when Jean Everett went to work making sure the sport she loves was not forgotten.
