FORT DAVIS - A pair of Fort David businesses are moving-one out and another in - and both tourists and local residents will benefit from the changes. Visitors to Fort David this week were surprised to find Fort David Drug Store boarded up and closed.

Adams announces run for commissioner

Jody Adams announced this week he is filing for commissioner in Precinct 1, the seat being vacated by longtime Commissioner Larry Francell. A Fort Davis native who works with Fort Davis Water Supply, he will face Fort Davis contractor Phil Martini, who has announced for the position as an independent candidate. Adams is filing in the Republican primary.

John Morlock to retire in January

A leader ship change is in the near future for Fort Davis National Historic Site as John Morlock, a 34-year veteran of federal govemment service, is announcing his retirement from the National Park Service and as superintendent of the historic frontier military post.

Boultinghouse, Melvor, Merrill win county stock show

JEFFDAVISCOUNTY -Fort Davis FFA and 4-H students finally got to show their animals Sunday afternoon following several delays due to cold and wet weather. A handful of students and their animals exhibited to Cody Trimble of Lubbock starting with the lambs and followed by goats and pigs.
