Pate, Ybarra, Lobo volleyball among honorees

BIG BEND- The annual Sul Ross State University Athletic Hall of Honor Banquet and induction ceremony is set for Saturday, Feb. 20. This year's event is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Espino Conference Room of the Morgan University Center.

The Fort Davis team sponsored by Bencomo Motorport won second place in the U/10 division of the Big Bend Soccer League. Indians earn split with Bears as loop play now underway

FORT DAVIS - Behind 26 points from Hadley Mcivor the Fort Dvis Indians plugged Balmorhea's girls 55-39 last Friday in the opening matchup for district roundball. Yani Ponce, a fellow junior, added 11 for the Indians who are 1-0 in district after Tuesday night's games in Grandfalls were cancelled because of a major flu outbreak in the Ward County metropolis.

Fort Davis opens district on Friday

The Fort Davis Indians open the 2016 district volleyball race Friday night when they host the Balmorhea Bears here starting at 6:30 pm. The Indians play both boys and girls games with the ladies going first.

McIvor joins Ponce on all state volleyball teams just released

FORT DAVIS - Junior Hadley McIvor, who led the Fort Davis Indians to a Final Four berth in the state playoffs, has been named to the First Team all state squad released this week by the Texas  Sportswriters Association.

Lobos remain on a roll as 2016 part of season starting Jan. 2

BIG BEND - The Sul Ross men's basketball team (4-6, 2-1 ASC) will take their West Division, second place standing out of state to begin the new year as the Lobos face University of the Ozarks January 2 at 3: 00 p.m.

Indians claim Sanderson crown

SANDERSON - Fort Davis used a 17 point performance from Most Valuable Player Hadley Mclvor, the Indian girls won the Sanderson Esgle tournament this past weekend with a 36-30 victory over Rankin.

SANDERSON- Dropping the opener 58-47 to Rankin on Friday, the Fort David Indians Played Buena Vista close before losing 54-45 in the second round.

The Fort Davis Indians

The Fort Davis Indians, who finished in the Final Four of the 2015 Class A volleyball season, were honored Monday night by the Fort Davis Independent School District Board of Trustees. The girls are shown on their wt{V out of town to the state tournament three weeks ago.
