We needed that! Indians end long, dry spell 50-0

FORT DAVIS - It's been more than just a little while since the Fort Davis Indians put a whipping on somebody like they did last Saturday - not to mention how long a dry spell it's been since Fort Davis won a game at all. And Saturday's game not only made this bunch of Indians feel pretty good - it also was a huge boost for everyone associated with the green and gold - in school or out.

Indians second at Van Horn's tourney Saturday

FORT DAVIS - More competitive every time out is Coach Gary Lamar's constant reminder to his 2014 Fort Davis Indians, who came home with a second place plaque from Van Horn's tournament this past weekend. Eliminating some of the little mistakes that have been troubling the Indians is another goal for Lamar and the Indians, who take on El Paso Home School and Fort Hancock in a dual meet here this Saturday, starting at 2 pm.

Indians drop a close one for consolation brass at tough Wink tourney

WINK - The Fort Davis Indians didn't bring home any brass, but be clear about this: the Class A and Class A A teams Fort Davis faced got a full dose of portents to come. "I thought we played well considering how tough the pool was," said Indian Coach Gary Lamar. "Old Wink didn't do us any favors when it came to scheduling, but that's allright; we got a chance to play some very good teams."

Indians ready to open volleyball season with scrimmage Friday

FORT DAVIS - The goal is not to make this bunch seem bigger than life - while on the other hand, it's tough not to think that maybe this is the team that will bring Fort Davis back into, not just West Texas, but statewide volleyball spotlight. The Indians open at 10 am Friday in Alpine in scrimmage play with the always-tough Bucks, Sierra Blanca and Van Horn. The junior varsity will also be in action on Friday.
