Indians open district in Rankin Friday

RANKIN - Fort Davis heads to Upton County for the district football opener Friday, game time scheduled for 7:30. The Indians go into this one with almost everyone in pretty good shape considering the time of year and the number of games the Indians have played. Fort Davis is 5-2 on the year, a big improvement over the last three or four years - and the Indians have a legitimate chance of knocking one to three of their district opponents, starting with the Red Devils, who have struggled this year.

Indians win district, now 11-0

FORT DAVIS - With a sometimes sluggish, but always overpowering three-game mash of McCamey Tuesday, the Fort Davis Indians clinched the 2015 district volleyball crown with an 11-0 record going into the final match of the season with Marfa on Saturday. That one starts at 1:30 pm and is a chance for the Indians to finish the year perfect in district at 12-0, despite the fact Marfa has every - thing to play for - and the Indians are starting to think playoffs.

FORT DAVIS INDIAN OF THE WEEK

The junior is making a name for herself with accuracy and knowhow in the assist department, most notably. She's become a difference maker for the Indians, both as an assist leader in many matches and with her serving prowess. She'll be one more backbone for a state contender come playoff time.
