State honors Fort Davis brothers for heroics during Presidio flood

EL PASO - Fort Davis brothers Robert and Ramon Hartnett were honored for their heroic efforts as winners of the Extra Mile Award, given for outstanding service by the Texas Department of Transportation. The Hartnett brothers, who are Fort Davis natives, were among a group of TxDOT employees cited ror their bravery in the face of events at both Presidio and Pine Springs. Sons of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hartnett Sr. of Fort Davis, the two are well known here for their prowess on the football field. Robert Hartnett was known as "The Duke" and Ramon Hartnett earned the nickname "Hammer" when they starred for the Fort Davis Indians back in the 1980s and 1990s.
