ALPINE - Far Marfa, the critically acclaimed, award-winning independent film by Cory Van Dyke of Marfa, will make its West Texas theatrical debut at Rangra Theatres in Alpine this Friday Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m. The film, with dozens of Big Bend locals in supporting roles, follows a stalled musician's rarefied and unpredictable quest to reclaim his art, both figuratively and literally, while weaving through the many sides of Marfa and the landscapes of West Texas. The lead role is played by Johnny Sneed, as Carter Frazier, who like in no country song ever written, manages to lose his girlfriend, his pride, and a priceless piece of art all within the span of a day.
